The Dolphins 2023 NRL squad and development players

Wayne Bennett

Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett is continuing to add names to his inaugural squad, with the signing of veteran props Jesse Bromwich and Mark Nicholls for 2023.

Both Bromwich and Nicholls were confirmed as the Dolphins' latest signings over the past week, the pair agreeing to two-year deals to shift to Redcliffe next year.

Following the signings of both Origin forward Felise Kaufusi and Eels utility Ray Stone, the expansion club are continuing to add depth ahead of their first season in the NRL.

Kiwis and Broncos flyer Jamayne Isaako has also signed on for 2023, linking up with the man that gave him his NRL debut in coach Bennett.

Valynce Te Whare will move across from New Zealand, where he has excelled in rugby union, and has been added to the Dolphins' top 30 roster.

Michael Roberts - the younger brother of former Origin centre James Roberts - has signed on as a development player, while under-age standout Harrison Graham has also been added.

“Since the Dolphins’ recruitment team first came together to discuss players, we have always been of the view that squad members 21 to 30 are just as important as players one to 10,” Dolphins CEO Terry Reader said.

“These three young players have been recruited from different backgrounds and different competitions — this underlines that we are doing extensive recruitment to build a balanced and talented roster for our entry to the 2023 NRL competition.

“It also adds to the work we are already doing with junior development to ensure the future of the Dolphins, including a junior Dolphins NRL academy camp we held this week.

“That group of young players will always hold a place in history as attendees at the first ever Junior Dolphins’ NRL training camp.”
