AFCON 2022 Quarterfinals: Matches, schedule, times, TV for Africa Cup of Nations knockout round

The semifinals are set at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations after all four quarterfinal matchups were played on Saturday and Sunday.

Host Cameroon became the first semifinalist after knocking off Gambia with relative ease, 2-0. Karl Toko Ekambi scored both goals in a dominant performance by the Indomitable Lions, which are looking every bit the part of AFCON 2022 winners. But Cameroon will face its toughest test yet in the semis: Mohamed Salah and Egypt are in the final four after handling Morocco in extra time 2-1 thanks to a goal and assist by Salah.

After upsetting Nigeria in the Round of 16, Tunisia was upset itself by Burkina Faso, 1-0, in the quarters on Saturday. For Burkina Faso, it's a return to the semis after finishing third in the 2017 AFCON. It will meet pre-tournament favorite Senegal which beat Equatorial Guinea 3-1 in convincing fashion.

With defending champion Algeria eliminated in the group stage, there will be a new champion. Ghana was also shockingly eliminated from contention in the group stage.

AFCON 2022 Quarterfinals

Below is the remaining knockout bracket for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations from the quarterfinals on. Matches that end in a draw after 90 minutes of regulation will proceed to 30 minutes of extra time and a penalty-kick shootout if the draw persists after extra time. 

The third-place match on Feb. 6 is the only contest that will skip extra time and head straight to a penalty-kick shootout if the match finishes in a tie.
