Tom Brady is the GOAT on the field — and maybe on social media, too.

The longtime Patriots and former Buccaneers quarterback announced his retirement on Tuesday, making the weekend reports official. While Brady spent a lot of time in his social media posts thanking Buccaneers players, fans, his family, agents and pretty much anyone and everyone else that made his career special, there was a very obvious and curious omission.

In Brady's farewell post, he omitted anything having to do with the Patriots, New England, Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft, Patriots fans, Foxborough, chowder ...

While a point can be made that Brady did say his goodbyes when he left New England following the 2019 season, it still seems curious (and a little hilarious) that he didn't do anything to give the team that he spent 20 years of his career with so much as a shout-out.

Some reports indicated that there was something of an acrimonious split between Brady and the Patriots, but both sides shared kind words for one another when he left the organization. Belichick and Kraft both had warm goodbye statements for Brady's exit, and vice versa.

Ironically, the Patriots would share a congratulatory message for Brady soon after the announcement.

Brady won six Super Bowls with the Patriots before heading to Tampa Bay in 2020 and winning a seventh.
