One word: Monaco.

The glitz, glamour, speed and glory of Formula 1 is all packed into this week's race in Monaco, and it's been a long, long wait for F1 fans: The event was axed in 2020 thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, and it was the first time since 1954 that the race wasn't held.

In the last running of the Monaco GP in 2019, Lewis Hamilton took home the checkered flag, his second career win in Monte Carlo, and his first since 2016. This year, Hamilton is off to the best start of his career, taking the top step in three of four races already this season, and is coming off back-to-back victories in Portugal and Spain, making for a veritable threat for three in a row.

Though, as we know, Monaco always has its surprises, which is what makes this weekend's race an especially intriguing one: While Mercedes has dominated the track in recent years, Red Bull has had its success on the circuit, historically, making the Hamilton-Max Verstappen duel atop the table one to watch.

Verstappen trails Hamilton by 14 points early on, a deficit that can be erased with a few quality runs and finishes. So far, there's been fireworks in the F1 season — expect that to continue this Sunday.

Here's what you need to know about this week's F1 race:

In all, there are 23 scheduled races in the 2021 F1 season, with the Portuguese Grand Prix the last race added, sliding onto the docket the first week in March. The originally scheduled Vietnam Grand Prix was removed after the arrest of Nguyen Duc Chung, while the Chinese Grand Prix is currently up in the air. It was originally scheduled for April 11, but will likely not take place this season.

All races will be broadcast on the U.S. side on the ESPN family of networks, with the United States Grand Prix and Mexico City Grand Prix both airing on ABC.

Please note: The on-the-hour start times do not include the broadcast start time, which is typically five minutes before the start of the race. Times do not include ESPN's customary pre-race shows.
