Waiting is the hardest part in Formula 1.

After a very dramatic — and controversial — Lewis Hamilton win at the British Grand Prix, F1 drivers head to Hungary for Round 11 of the 2021 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

Hamilton (inadvertantly) took out driver's championship leader Max Verstappen in the first lap of the 2021 British GP, sending Verstappen into the wall in a 51G crash. Verstappen was sent to the hospital for precautionary measures, but the Red Bull driver hopes to be back on the track in two weeks' time.

Is there a Formula 1 race today?

  • Next F1 race: British Grand Prix
  • Date: Sunday, Aug. 1
  • Lights out: 9 a.m. ET

F1 drivers head to the Hungaroring for Round 11 of the 2021 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

In 2020, Hamilton took home the checkered flag at the Hungaroring, with Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas filling out the podium behind him. This year could prove more of the same if Verstappen and Hamilton keep trading wins.

Formula 1 schedule 2021

Formula 1 returns in 2021 with a zaftig 22-race schedule, starting with the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 28, and concluding with the customary Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Dec. 12.

The Portuguese Grand Prix returns for its second-consecutive running after a 22-year absence. Also making its debut this year is the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix taking place on the Jeddah Street Circuit, scheduled for December.

The Australian Grand Prix, originally scheduled for Nov. 21, has been axed. Several options are on the table to take its place.

The Singapore GP was nixed in early June, with the Turkish Grand Prix taking its place the same weekend.

All times Eastern.
