Who is Waters and what can he bring to the Raptors? Here are some fast facts on the team's latest signing.
Who is Tremont Waters?
Following two strong seasons at LSU where he averaged 15.6 points, 5.9 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game, Waters was selected by the Boston Celtics with the 51st pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Waters played sparingly over two seasons as a two-way player for the Celtics but did appear in 37 NBA games during that span. He was also a G League standout for the then-Maine Red Claws, earning G League Rookie of the Year in 2020 after averaging 18.0 points, 7.2 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.

This past offseason, Waters signed a contract with the Milwaukee Bucks but was waived shortly after, paving the way for him to sign with their G League affiliate, Wisconsin Herd.
The 23-year-old was enjoying another solid G League season with the Herd, averaging 17.2 points, 6.0 assists and 2.7 steals over the first 13 games of the season before earning a call-up to the Raptors.
With VanVleet, Flynn, Trent and Banton out of the lineup, there are plenty of minutes available at the guard position for Waters to get an opportunity to play.
The G League has Waters listed at 5-foot-10, 175 pounds.
