The Washington Wizards announced they will be without star guard Bradley Beal for the next few games due to a wrist injury.

This comes as a tough blow to a Wizards team that has struggled since getting out to a hot start earlier in the season, now sitting in at 23-26, outside of the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament.

They are currently on a five-game losing streak and are trying to stay in the playoff picture but will have to do so without Beal for the time being.

Here is everything we know about the injury.

What is Bradley Beal's injury?

In the Wizards' loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, Beal went down with a wrist injury after trying to take a charge on Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. He came up holding his left wrist but elected to stay in and finish the game.

He was diagnosed with a sprained left wrist, but he is set to undergo further testing, according to the team's release.

How long will Bradley Beal be out?

The Wizards said Beal will miss at least the next two games due to a left wrist sprain and his status will be updated upon further evaluation.

The injury comes at a tough time, as Washington is about to take on two of the best teams in the East in the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers for its next two matchups.

They will have to try and survive those contests without Beal, who is averaging a team-high 23.2 points to go with 6.6 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game. It has been a bit of a down year for the three-time All-Star, who is shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 30.0 percent from 3, averaging his fewest points per game since 2017-18.

He has missed nine games to this point in the season and the Wizards hold a 6-3 record in his absence.
