Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins has entered the league's COVID-19 health and safety protocols, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

He is now the second Warriors player to do so, following Jordan Poole, who was placed in protocols ahead of Friday's game against the Boston Celtics.

Wiggins is enjoying a breakout season with the Warriors, averaging 18.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, while shooting a career-high 42.2 percent from the 3-point line. Golden State currently owns the second-best record in the league at 24-6 and has won three of its past four games, losing to the Toronto Raptors Saturday with Wiggins, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Otto Porter Jr. out of the lineup.

Per the NBA, a player that enters the NBA's Health and Safety Protocols must be sidelined for 10 days or record two negative PCR tests in a 24-hour period before they can resume basketball activities. The Warriors host the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday and Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday, before a marquee Christmas Day matchup against the Phoenix Suns.
