Should Ronaldo ditch Juventus for Manchester City? – The View from East Africa

Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester City? It is a no-no for me and for the simple reason that he will never enjoy his football there, I just think United fans won’t just allow him to; the hooligans and extremists won't even let his family have peace.

There is the unwritten rule that if you have played for United then a move to City is an abomination but the other way around has never been an issue. But at the end of the day, it is about what a player wants, and if CR7 wants to eat his own words that he’d never move to City then who are we to stop him?

Don't be surprised that United would suddenly have interest in Ronaldo, just to frustrate the noisy neighbours, the money Juventus want is not even a pocket change for United to afford even if they had no such plans.

Ronaldo should not move to Manchester City because he has already been in the Premier League and won a number of accolades with Manchester United.

Again, had Manchester City been serious about getting a big signing, would it not have been easier to sign Lionel Messi, who had a perfect relationship with Pep Guardiola before?

It will be interesting to see how ‘old’ Ronaldo will cope with the fast Premier League on his return but with massive talent around him, he might get good stats in front of the goal.

However, his impact might not be the same as during his first stint at Manchester United, and the million dollar question is, do the Citizens really need him?

For me I think, Ronaldo leaving Juventus to sign with Manchester City makes no sense; because this may negatively affect his career.

I don’t know what he exactly wants with a move to City [if true he has asked to join them] but going to City will not add anything to his career because he has won almost everything already.

Until now, it is the worst news for me, to see Ronaldo's intentions to join Manchester City having played for Man United, and as a United fan, I don’t know what will go through my mind if he ends up wearing the blue jersey for City.

I will suggest he better stays at Juventus or even move to Paris Saint-Germain in France, instead, of making a return to Premier League and specifically signing for City.
