Ronaldo, Ramos and Buffon - Who are the players with most international appearances?

Cristiano Ronaldo recently broke Iran's Ali Daei's record to become the all-time highest international goalscorer in men's football with a brace against the Republic of Ireland in a 2022 World Cup qualifying match.

Ronaldo had equalled Daei's record of 109 goals during the Euro 2020 and with the brace against Republic of Ireland. The Portuguese surpassed his tally and recorded 111 goals in his 180th match in international football.

Ronaldo has now equalled his former Real Madrid teammate Sergio Ramos' tally of international caps for Spain (180). Both Ramos and Ronaldo are the joint-fifth highest most-capped international players and the second-most capped players after Kuwait's Bader Al-Mutawa among active players.

The Kuwaiti skipper made his debut in September 2003 and last played an international match against Bosnia and Herzegovina in a friendly tie on September 5, 2021. Bosnia had won the tie 1-0. 

Former Malaysian international defender Soh Chin Ann has the most international caps of all time with 195 caps. He started his career in November 1969 and retired after almost 15 years in October 1984.
