With the Warriors taking on the Clippers in Golden State's home opener, Curry scored 25 points on 9-for-9 shooting, including five 3-pointers, in the opening period. The 25 points tied for the most he has scored in a first quarter and were just three shy of the most he has scored in any quarter.
It also was Curry's eighth career quarter with 25 or more points. Since 1996-97, the next-closest player in that span is Kobe Bryant, who had four such quarters. No other active player has three 25-plus point quarters.
