NRL Judiciary round 18: Aiden Tolman facing suspension; Proctor, Herbert avoid bans

Round 18: Judiciary Wrap

The Origin period is over and the chase for a spot in the finals is well and truly on.

With plenty on the line over the next few weeks, players will no doubt be keen to avoid the wrath of the NRL judiciary.

See below for all the match review committee charges from round 18.

Proctor and Herbert fined over Papali'i throw

Titans pair Kevin Proctor and Patrick Herbert have avoided suspension over a dangerous throw on Isaiah Papali'i in Gold Coast's loss to the Eels on Friday night.

The Parramatta backrower was placed into an awkward position in the first half of the contest but he escaped injury.

Proctor was sent to the sin-bin over the tackle, but the match review committee found neither players' actions worthy of a suspension.

They will however be fined, $1,600 for Proctor and $1,350 for Herbert, if they take early guilty pleas - the difference coming from each player's prior offences.

Gold Coast will perhaps feel the sin-bin was more than enough punishment already, as they watched what had been a bright start to the game eroded when the Eels ran in three tries while Proctor was off the field.

Parramatta claimed a comfortable 26-8 win in the end.

No players were charged in Manly's win over the Dragons in the other Friday night game.
