Australian Boomers bronze medal-winning player Matisse Thybulle says seeing the success of his Olympic teammates in the NBA this season has been fun to watch.

Thybulle, who holds dual American and Australian nationality, was a key contributor to Australia winning their first men's international medal at the Tokyo Olympics last July. He was one of seven new players on the Boomers' squad and was meeting many of the guys for the first time.

Speaking after the 76ers beat the San Antonio Spurs, featuring Boomers teammate Jock Landale, Thybulle said it was "crazy" seeing so many guys he played with outside of the league do so well in the NBA, pointing to Landale as the prime example.

"All the success of my guys this season has been fun to watch - it’s obviously better when it’s not against us - All in all, I’m really excited for them," said Thybulle.

"Jock's been working for a long time to get to the league and to stick. He's done an amazing job of carving out a niche for himself."

After initially struggling to get minutes this season under coach Gregg Popovich, Landale has seen his minutes increase as the season has gone on, punctuated by a career-best performance against the Pistons in which he had 18 points, five rebounds and three assists in just 16 minutes.

Thybulle returned from a second stint in the league's Health and Safety Protocols to have an impact on both ends of the floor for Philadelphia with 12 points on 5-of-5 shooting and two steals.
