Mills has seen his 3-point attempts per game rise in each of the last three seasons, up to 6.7 per game in 2021-22 with Brooklyn. He's making them at a rate of 44.6 percent so far, and almost 75 percent of his points have come off 3-point baskets this season.

Mills is also on track to make 250 3-pointers this season, which would smash his previous record of 161 3s made last year.

“When we have a team and coaching staff that empowers you that way at a place that is home here, I think it instills all that confidence to go out and be yourself,” Mills has said.

The Australian guard has been taking and making more 3-pointers than at any time of his career this season with the Nets. Mills has already set a Nets' franchise record for most 3-pointers made off the bench (9), which also gave him a new career single-game high, and he equaled the Australian record for most 3-pointers in a single game, which was surprisingly previously held by Aron Baynes.

Mills is also the first player in Nets franchise history to make seven 3-pointers off the bench twice. He went a perfect 7-of-7 in his regular-season debut on opening night against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Mills still needs a a few more made 3s to crack the top 50 all-time. Currently, Danilo Gallinari is in 50th place with 1,346 made 3s. Even if Mills were to average 200 made 3s over the next two seasons, there is a distinct possibility that he could crack the top 25 all-time
