Canberra Raiders veteran Jordan Rapana has signed a new two year-deal, keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2023 NRL season.

The 32-year-old has played 150 games for the club since signing there in 2014, and has been a major part of their successful campaigns in 2016 and 2019.

Rapana has been in strong form in recent weeks since moving to fullback, as the club continues to struggle with injuries in the outside backs.

The 11-time Kiwi international said he was excited to remain at the Green Machine for a further two years.

“I’m really happy to have been able to re-sign with the club for two more years as I love the Raiders and Canberra is my home,” he said.

“I’m really excited about what the team can achieve over the next few seasons and I’m looking forward to being a part of that and helping the younger guys who have stepped up this season take their games to the next level.”

After a short stint in Japanese rugby union at the start of 2020, Rapana returned to Canberra and has remained a reliable fixture in Ricky Stuart's side.

CEO Don Furner paid tribute to Rapana's dedication to the club.

“Jordan gives everything every time he takes the field and has proven this season what an important part of our squad he is,” he said.

“He’s had a wonderful season and has proven that he is among the games best finishers.

"I know he’s also a very popular member of the squad and he’s much loved by the Raiders fanbase.”
