Parramatta Eels front-rower Reagan Campbell-Gillard has re-signed for a further three years, keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2025 NRL season.

The 28-year-old has been at Parramatta since 2020 and has gone on to play 41 games for the club, adding to his previous 114 appearances at the Penrith Panthers.

Campbell-Gillard has also represented both NSW and Australia, and his new deal is a major boost for the Eels.

Already signed until the end of 2022, RCG was able to negotiate with rival clubs for 2023 and had been linked with a move to The Dolphins in recent weeks.

But on Friday afternoon, Parramatta announced he would be staying put and head of football Mark O'Neill congratulated the prop on his extension.

“I would like to congratulate Reagan and his partner Alira on his new deal which is exciting news for our members and fans," he said.

"Reagan has connected well with everyone at our club, is a vital member of our squad and adds a level of aggression needed to compete at NRL level.

"We are extremely pleased that he and Alira have chosen to stay with the Eels and be part of the exciting future ahead for our Club.

"He is one of the best front rowers in the NRL and loves playing in the big games."

Campbell-Gillard was one of many big-name Eels stars who are open to negotiate from November 1, with the likes of Clinton Gutherson and Isaiah Papali'i also open.

Earlier on Friday, the club released a bizarre statement defending their ongoing contract negotiations with a host of players, refusing to disclose information about the status of their list of off-contract stars.

"Over recent weeks there has been media speculation in relation to certain players at our club who are off contract at the end of 2022," the statement said.

"The media has a job to do in reporting player movements which we respect as we understand the public interest in our players.

"Over the last six months, we have regularly engaged with all our players and their managers in a private and productive manner, balancing the club’s intent to ensure players are paid fairly and their value is appropriately recognized, whilst ensuring we are assembling our strongest possible roster year on year.

"Our approach is not to engage publicly in speculation regarding player negotiations.

"It is disrespectful to the players involved, is unhelpful in building a team that is set up for success, and most importantly, goes against how we aim to operate as a club.

"To date, our discussions with players and their managers have been robust, professional and constructive.

"These discussions are ongoing and we look forward to updating you shortly with some exciting news on our roster for 2022, 2023 and beyond."
