The signing spree at the Canterbury Bulldogs has continued, with the club announcing a two-year deal for South Sydney centre Braidon Burns.

The 25-year-old featured in just eight games this year for the Rabbitohs, scoring two tries, but was stuck behind Campbell Graham and Dane Gagai for most the year.

Burns has shown promise in his limited opportunities, but has been hampered by injuries since signing with Souths back in 2017, playing just 40 games in total.

Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton believes the club are building a strong roster and is excited to have Burns on board.

"There is a genuine feeling here at the Bulldogs that we are putting together a very exciting squad for next season and beyond," he said.

"Adding depth in all positions is something that we have worked hard to achieve, and to be able to sign someone of Braidon's ability and strikepower is a major boost for our backline.

"Braidon is a hard worker who wants the chance to succeed, and we are delighted that he has chosen to come to Belmore at a time when he is moving into the best stage of his career."

The signing of Burns comes less than a week after Canterbury signed Max King for 2022 - but there are a host of other names who will be heading to Belmore next year.

Matt Dufty, Josh Addo-Carr and Matt Burton will provide plenty of spark in the backline, with all three players proven tryscorers at NRL level.

In the forwards, Paul Vaughan and Tevita Pangai Junior will headline a new-look pack as new head of football Phil Gould looks to revamp the struggling club.
