UFC 267 live : fight date, start time, betting odds, PPV price & location for Blachowicz vs. Teixeira, Islam Makhachev's return

Jan

UFC 267 features two title fights and a thrilling lightweight contest , when the event heads back to Fight Island (Etihad Arena) in Abu Dhabi.

Jan Blachowicz will defend his light- heavyweight belt against MMA legend Glover Teixeira on October 31. This is Blachowicz's first defence after beating middleweight star Israel Adesanya at UFC 259.

His opponent Teixeira is on a five- fight winning streak and has plenty of momentum heading into the championship bout.

Blachowicz never gave up on his UFC title dreams. At 38-years old, after being in the organisation since 2014, he would finally become a world champion. Similarly, Teixeira has found another gear at 41 years old, with his recent winning streak proving that you can peak late in MMA.

The co-main event has no title holder, as Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling is out with a neck injury.  Sterling gained the belt following a controversial DQ win against previous champion Petr Yan. Yan threw an illegal knee at Sterling while he was on the ground at UFC 259. Sterling could not recover and Yan would lose his title to the challenger. Yan was dominating the fight but made a costly error. A rematch was organised for UFC 267, however Sterling has withdrawn allowing Cory Sandhagen an opportunity to win the interim Bantamweight belt.

Petr Yan

The challenger Sandhagen is coming off a split decision loss against former UFC champion TJ Dillashaw in July. Dillashaw would have been given the opportunity at the belt but is recovering from a knee injury which happened in the fight. Many MMA experts and fans had the 29-year-old Sandhagen winning the contest against his former team mate Dillashaw. Sandhagen has found himself in a good position and fans are not dissapointed that he is competing at UFC 267.

The card also features the return of lightweight Islam Makhachev who is ranked number five in the lightweight division. Makhachev has been one the most dominant fighters in 2020, similar to his close friend and fellow Dagestani Khabib Nurmagomedov, he has incredible wrestling skills. The 29-year-old was supposed to be competing with former champ Rafeal Dos Anjos, but the Brazillan withdrew due to injury. Fan favourite Dan Hooker got the call to be the replacement at UFC 267. The New Zealander is a big underdog in the fight, however Hooker does not agree with this narrative.

" I don't buy it. He puts his pants on like I put my pants on. He ain't superman. I'm very confident," Hooker told in his interview at UFC media day.
