Ange Postecoglou arrived at Celtic with plenty of fans doubting whether the Australian coach could turn the club around.

Less than 200 days later and the former Socceroos boss has delivered the Hoops their first piece of silverware and earned himself an epic apology in the process.

Celtic came from a goal down to edge out Hibernian 2-1 in the Scottish League Cup final on Monday morning (AEDT) with Japanese star Kyogo Furuhashi scoring both goals.

After a mixed start to life in charge of the Hoops, Postecoglou has now won seven straight games in all competitions and picked up an early trophy.

Despite injuries and inevitable fixture pile-ups, Celtic have managed to not only rediscover their winning ways, but are also playing entertaining attacking football in the process.

Against Hibs, the Hoops attempted double the number of shots and passes compared to their opponents. While Postecoglou's side have been held goalless in just three games across all competitions this season.

Having now also delivered a trophy, one fan took it upon themselves to apologise for ever doubting the Aussie coach in hilarious fashion.

This Celtic fan wasn't the only person to doubt Postecoglou's appointment early on with former Scotland international Alan Brazil infamously slamming the club's choice back in June.

"This has got to be a wind up," Brazil said on talkSPORT at the time. "Where do they come up with these guys from?"

Considering the Aussie has now won silverware, fans are calling on Brazil to be the next to apologise.

While Postecoglou has quickly proven his doubters wrong, he's vowed this is just the start of a successful period for Celtic.

The Hoops are currently seven points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership but have a game in hand and will need to avoid any League Cup hangovers to ensure they stay within touching distance.
