WBBL07 fixtures: Every match of the 2021 Women's Big Bash season

Cricket Australia has confirmed the fixtures for the upcoming WBBL07 season with matches returning to being played around the entire country.

The entire season of WBBL06 was played in New South Wales due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. 

Players were stationed in a bubble at Sydney Olympic Park and were transported to games from North Sydney Oval to Blacktown. 

The Sydney Thunder eventually took out the title in a thrilling final against the Melbourne Stars to claim their second WBBL crown. 

However, that's all a memory as we prepare for the seventh edition of the tournament and it's set to be one of the biggest yet. 

Forty-seven WBBL matches will be broadcast nationally, a new record for the competition. All 59 matches will available to stream on Kayo Sports. 

Fixtures will be played in all six home states at eleven different venues. This is of course subject to change if public health conditions force Cricket Australia to modify the schedule. 

The season will kick off at North Sydney Oval on Thursday, October 14 as the Sydney Sixers do battle with the Melbourne Stars. 

Across the next five weeks, the tournament will have matches in Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania. 

The finals will commence on Wednesday, November 24 with the Final to take place on Saturday, November 27. 

The match will be a primetime encounter that immediately follows the first day of the historic Australia v Afghanistan Test match in Hobart. 

Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s General Manager of Big Bash Leagues, said he was thrilled to have so many matches broadcast nationally for one of the highest-rating domestic tournaments in Australia.

“We’re excited to announce a WBBL|07 schedule today that demonstrates the incredible commitment of our broadcast partners Seven, Foxtel, Kayo, ABC Radio and cricket.com.au to the League," Dobson said.

“To commit to televising 47 matches this season demonstrates the incredible growth and depth of our competition, which is firmly cemented as Australia’s highest rating women’s sporting league on a per-game basis.

“We’re also delighted to take the competition back to our passionate and loyal fans around the country provided it is safe to do so. 

"We’re hoping to give as many fans as possible the opportunity to watch their teams live, along with the millions watching on TV across Australia and around the world."

The players are equally as enthusiastic to be taking games back to their home fans. 

Melbourne Stars captain Meg Lanning can't wait to play games in front of their Victorian fans again. 

“It’s exciting to see the fixtures finally unveiled for what will be another fantastic edition of the WBBL," Lanning said.

"I think one of the most exciting things for us as players is the potential to have crowds back and especially for our fans in Melbourne.

"We really want to perform well and hopefully take that last step that we missed out on in last season’s final."
