Tim Tszyu's upcoming November 17 fight against Takeshi Inoue is in need of a new venue after Queensland's COVID-19 restrictions forced the fight out of the state.

The Aussie superstar was due to take on Inoue at Gold Coast Convention Centre next month, but the fight could now be moved to Sydney, Canberra or Newcastle.

Promoter No Limit Boxing is still confident Tszyu will face the Japanese former world title challenger on November 17.

No Limit boss George Rose confirmed the news on Tuesday.

"The ongoing uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically the impact of hotel quarantine on the health and welfare of our fighters made it impossible for the fight to continue in Queensland," Rose said.

"I want to stress that we are completely supportive of the hotel quarantine system and would like to specifically thank Queensland Health for doing all they could to make this fight happen on the Gold Coast.

"I would also like to thank Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate and the team at Major Events Gold Coast for their commitment and support of this event.

"I can promise everyone that No Limit Boxing will be back on the Gold Coast bigger and better than ever in 2022."

No Limit also confirmed fans who purchased tickets for the Gold Coast fight will be fully refunded without further action.

More to come.
