Wallabies and Queensland Reds great Toutai Kefu is in a serious condition after being stabbed in an armed robbery in his Brisbane home on Monday morning.
Kefu was woken when three men attempted to break into his Coorparoo home shortly after 3:00am (AEST).
Channel 7 reports Kefu and his family confronted the robbers and a brawl ensued that saw the rugby union great knifed in the stomach and his wife and two children also injured.
The entire family were taken to Princess Alexandria Hospital, with Kefu understood to be fighting for life as he undergoes surgery to his stomach.

According to The Courier Mail, neighbours rushed to the scene when they were woken by the noise and managed to contain one of the alleged offenders, who was arrested at the scene.
Two people are in custody while the police are investigating.

Kefu was capped 60 times for the Wallabies, and was part of the World Cup winning side in 1999, while he also made 103 appearances for the Queensland Reds. He is currently the coach of the Tongan national team.
