Former Australian Test cricketer Michael Slater has been arrested following an alleged incident of domestic violence.
He was taken into custody on Wednesday morning from a home in Manly by police, who were responding to an incident that was reported last week.
Slater, a father of three, is yet to have been charged.
“Officers attached to the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command commenced an investigation yesterday after receiving reports of a domestic violence incident alleged to have occurred on Tuesday 12 October 2021,’’ a NSW Police statement reads.
“Following inquiries, detectives attended a home at Manly about 9.20am and spoke with a 51-year-old man. He has since been arrested and taken to Manly Police Station.”
It follows reports Slater was sacked by Channel 7 in relation to comments he made towards Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Twitter last year.
