Canterbury Bulldogs halfback Lachlan Lewis is under investigation by the NRL Integrity Unit, after he was reportedly involved in an off-field matter.

The 25-year-old was set to play for the Bulldogs on Sunday in their clash with Manly, but now appears at long odds to appear for the club again.

Off-contract at the end of the season, Lewis isn't expected to earn a new deal and this latest incident certainly won't help his cause.

According to the Daily Telegraph , the playmaker is alleged to have put an NRL-supplied speaker up for sale on Ebay, having taken it from the club's room at their Brisbane hotel.

The news comes just days after second-rower Adam Elliott was stood down over an off-field incident , and also fined $10,000 by the NRL

More to come.
