Now that the Tokyo Olympic Games are out of the way, attention turns to the Tokyo Paralympic Games. 

Australia had an incredibly successful Olympics with 17 gold medals and if our talented Paralympians are anything to go by, we could be seeing even more medals coming home from Japan. 

With two weeks in between the Olympics and Paralympics, Tokyo will begin to prepare for thousands of new athletes to head to Japan to compete in 539 events across 22 sports. 

It's set to be another fantastic fortnight of inspiring stories and remarkable achievements.

The majority of the venues will be the same venues used for the Olympic Games, such as the Olympic Stadium which will host the Athletics.

What channel is the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games on in Australia?

Channel 7 holds the right for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in Australia. 

The network will use its free-to-air channel to broadcast the events with an exact schedule yet to be confirmed. 

7 Plus  will also be used to watch select live streams as well as on-demand highlights and features. 

With Tokyo only one hour behind the east coast of Australia, the time zone presents a fantastic proposition for Australian audiences. 

What events are on at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games?

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will feature 22 sports with a range of different disciplines. 

A number of sports are returning to the Paralympics including shooting, canoe and triathlon. 

Two new sports will also enter the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in Para-badminton and Para-taekwondo.
