NBA opening night has arrived, with a number of the Bronze medal winning Boomers set to start their campaign.

Legendary coach Brian Goorjian caught up with NBA Australia to discuss what lies ahead for the Australian contingent in the league.

Patty Mills, Brooklyn Nets

"Here's an experienced guy that's won before, that will take any role and play anything that you want to get that goal of getting that medal".

"Whether it's being the Kevin Durant, or being that bench guy, Patty is going to do that at a level you haven't seen before. It's not just him the player, they need what Patty is and what Patty brings. I think it's a match made in heaven. He's in incredible shape, he's a guy that can go until he's at least 40."

"You could see after we got our medal, Patty and Kevin Durant immediately attracted to each other and you can see that Kevin Durant is excited to have Patty Mills a part of his team."

Jock Landale, San Antonio Spurs

"Jock became our anchor. If Jock didn't have a great tournament there's no way we medal. He shined defensivey, he ran the floor.

"There's no doubt in my mind, the way the NBA game is going, he's long, he's athletic, he competes, he can defend, he's versatile and he's added the 3-point shot. He's only going to get better, he's going to be a very good NBA player."

Matisse Thybulle, Philadelphia 76ers

"I was there for a short small window. What you saw in Matisse, he played with a free spirit and was promoted to do things that maybe in an NBA team or the environment he was in other guys do. In Matisse we saw a free spirit on and off the floor and someone who would flourish with taking the reins off."

Josh Green, Dallas Mavericks

"He's an amazing athlete. He's just got to get better at the skill aspect of the game, become a consistent 3-point shooter, get a little better off the dribble. He can be really special defensively. He's going to get a tremendous opportunity at Dallas because he's got the physical skills and gifts."

Josh Giddey, Oklahoma City Thunder

"Here's a guy that comes in and he's got so much on his plate. I think when he came into the Boomers program people were thinking 15-20. After the Nigeria game and watching him practice he goes to No. 6. He was a huge part of the culture and it rubbed off on him."

"Everyone that I talk to, when you look at him...Warrick, his old man, anyone that knows him, soul of the earth and that's why he's the way he is. No, 'I'm special, I'm an NBA player look at me'."

Ben Simmons, Philadelphia 76ers

"If I'm involved with the Boomers he's going to be one of the first phone calls. I think he's a tremendous player, I think he's a good person. I'm just fingers crossed this all works out and he gets to be playing basketball again. He's young and some good things are ahead."
