Australia T20 World Cup

This year's T20 World Cup has had plenty of drama surrounding it, but it's now all-systems-go heading into the tournament opener on October 17th.

After originally being scheduled to be played in India, the tournament was moved to Oman and UAE due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns.

There will be plenty of prizemoney up for grabs as well, with a total of over $7.6 million AUD being attributed to the tournament by the ICC.

The winners of the tournament will receive a nice financial bonus - but it doesn't end there.

Every nation will receive at least $54,000 for participating in the tournament, which might not seem like a lot for countries like Australia and England, but could make a major difference to associate nations.

Following the win by Australia in the final in the early hours of Monday morning, they will take home a cool $2.2 million AUD, while runners-up New Zealand will pocket $1.1 million.

Here's a full breakdown of the T20 World Cup prizemoney for 2021.

STAGE PRIZEMONEY (AUD approx.)
First round $54,700
Super 12s $95,700
Semi-final losing teams $547,000
Runner-up $1.1 million
WINNER $2.2 million
